Jetto Voice vs Wispr Flow vs Typeless

All three let you type by voice in any app. The biggest difference is platforms: Jetto Voice runs only on the Mac, and it reads the text in your focused window so names and code terms come out spelled the way they appear on screen.

Wispr Flow and Typeless count their free allowance in words. Jetto Voice counts characters of the polished text it inserts, and in English a character allowance covers far fewer words than the same number of words would, so these figures are not directly comparable. Sources differ on Typeless's weekly allowance: its official blog (2026-08-02) says 8,000 words, while the Taiwanese tech magazine Business Next (2026-02-18) says 4,000 words.

Point by point

Jetto Voice wins on on-screen spelling and monthly price, and trails on platforms and the free plan

Platforms: Jetto Voice is Mac only, Typeless even runs on Linux

Jetto Voice currently supports macOS 14 or later only. Wispr Flow has Mac, Windows, iOS and Android apps, and Typeless adds Linux. If you also work on a Windows PC or a phone, Wispr Flow or Typeless is the better fit.

Price: at $12 a month, Jetto Voice is the cheapest monthly plan; only Wispr Flow and Typeless bill yearly

Billed monthly, Jetto Voice costs $12 a month, Wispr Flow $15 and Typeless $30 a month. Only Wispr Flow and Typeless offer yearly billing, at $12 a month each. Jetto Voice is monthly only for now, so you don't pay for a year up front.

Free plan: Jetto Voice counts characters, the other two count words

Jetto Voice Free includes 3,000 characters a week, counted on the polished text it actually inserts. That averages about 430 characters a day. Wispr Flow and Typeless count words instead, so for English their free plans go further. When you run out, upgrade to Pro, or share your invite link: you and your friend each get 7 days of Pro, and it stacks.

Tone by app: Jetto Voice also works in Chinese, Wispr Flow's Styles are English only

The same hotkey writes a formal email in your mail app and turns what you say into a clear instruction in a code editor or AI coding assistant (the built-in Vibe Coding mode). This works in English, and in Chinese it also switches punctuation to full-width.

Wispr Flow's site says “Let Flow shape your tone based on where you're writing”, and notes that Styles are “available only in English and on desktop”. If you write only in English on a Mac, both tools cover this, so it alone is no reason to switch.

Proper nouns: Jetto Voice reads your focused window and spells terms as they appear

What you said

change useState to load from PostgreSQL

Typical dictation might write

change use state to load from post gress sequel

Jetto Voice writes

Change useState to load from PostgreSQL.

When you start talking, Jetto Voice reads the text in your focused window. If useState and PostgreSQL are on screen, that's how it spells them. Text recognition runs locally on your Mac, and screenshots never leave the device.

Mixing languages: English terms stay as you said them, filler words go

Set your spoken language once. If you speak Chinese, Japanese or Korean and drop in English terms, they come out exactly as you said them. When one stretch of speech covers several points, it becomes a list, and filler like “um” and “like” is removed. Each mode can also set the spoken and written language separately, for example speak Chinese and get English or Japanese text directly.

Rewrite and send: select text and say the change, press Enter to send

Select some text, press the hotkey and say “translate to English” or “make it more formal”, and the rewrite replaces your selection. In a chat app, pressing Enter while recording stops the recording, inserts the text and sends it.

Privacy: screenshots stay on your Mac, voice is discarded after processing

Screenshots are never uploaded; text recognition happens on your Mac. Your voice and the recognized text go to the cloud in real time only for transcription and polishing, then are discarded right away. Nothing is written to a database or used to train models. Your history stays on your own Mac.

Three cases where Wispr Flow or Typeless fits better

  • You also use Windows or a phone: Wispr Flow and Typeless both have iOS and Android apps, so one tool covers all your devices.
  • You work on Linux: Typeless has a Linux app.
  • You're already settled into Wispr Flow or Typeless: your dictionary, shortcuts and habits are set up, and staying means nothing to relearn.

Switching from Wispr Flow or Typeless in four steps

  1. Download Jetto Voice (macOS 14 or later) and sign in.
  2. Grant microphone and Accessibility access when prompted. To use screen reading, also grant Screen Recording.
  3. By default, press fn to start talking. You can also switch to hold-to-talk, where letting go inserts the text. If your old tool also uses fn, quit it or change one of the shortcuts.
  4. Add the names and terms you use often to your dictionary. The free plan's dictionary holds 5 words.
